(A.N.t) Andy Nowak Trio

Known to Malmesbury audiences as the spellbinding pianist from The Duval Project, Andy Nowak is also a reputable and established artist in his own right. Nowak is of Polish descent, Cheltenham born and now based in Bristol where he has an active presence on that city's jazz scene. His trio, often shortened to the modish abbreviation A.N.t. has been on the jazz circuit in the West of England and South Wales since 2005. The group's excellent debut album "Sorrow And The Phoenix" was released in 2016 swiftly followed by a self-release "Reset" in 2018 alongside a 17 date Arts Council supported national tour.

As the A.N.t. abbreviation suggests the trio's music is strongly influenced by E.S.T. with Nowak also citing Keith Jarrett and GoGo Penguin as other important contemporary influences. Further inspirations include Oscar Peterson, Hiromi and Brad Mehldau while Jason Rebello has voiced his admiration for "Sorrow And The Phoenix".

ANt's enthralling combination of powerful themes, subtle interplay and raw beauty envelopes audiences and their combination of truly original compositions and striking reworkings of well known material is fast becoming a hallmark of this highly empathic and musically adventurous trio.
