The Blue Tone Sessions presents EscherSteps

A new venue for Malmesbury Live Arts, the cosy Hayloft above The Three Cups has an arty vibe and is perfect for hosting studio type bands.  Before we break for Christmas, Blue Tone Jazz goes beyond the predictable tonight with, EscherSteps.

Music born of the hard lessons of life, love, political anger and frustration; raunchy, rocky, funky, at times banging and earthy, haunting and beautiful, soul-searing, transcendental…

Four excellent musicians together make EscherSteps, an upbeat, unique combo with an edgy new take on a broad range of influences: funky grooves sit alongside raunchy Earth-rock riffs, jazzy improvising, hard-hitting agit-rock, haunting ballads, synth sounds, and folk tinges.

“…the ever-surprising Eddie Parker – another Loose Tuber in the day – whose new band EscherSteps proved to be a song-based quartet that evoked a Canterbury 70’s festival with echoes of The Incredible String Band, Kevin Ayers and Welsh ‘heavy’ rockers Man. Eddie’s engaging smile and insouciant assurance carried the whole thing off with aplomb…there was an underlying sense of fun behind EscherSteps” - Tony Benjamin B24/7
