Demystifying the art of improvisation with our season three artist in residence Andy Nowak (pianist, composer, arranger, educator)
So, if you are reading this chances are you are thinking about signing up to our jazz masterclass series. With acclaimed pianist (and this season's artist in residence) Andy Nowak of Jump Start Jazz heads up this course aimed at the aspiring musician who wishes to learn how to improvise over jazz standards and related music. For those that are just starting their journey or are already on their way, JSJ will give you the tools you'll need in a fun, safe and engaging space to tackle the music you love.
Running from January to June the monthly three-hour jazz class is suitable if you have a basic level of playing an instrument or singing and would like to unravel the secrets of jazz and improvisation. Learn to play some standards inside out so you can gain confidence in playing jazz. Who knows, maybe even a new Malmesbury band may emerge.

These afternoon sessions will run every month giving you time to practise and hone the new skills you learn at each session, in-between classes.
